Meet Brian Maher

Brian received a Bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University and his Juris Doctor from Illinois Institute of Technology/Chicago Kent College of Law. He is also a Certified Illinois Assessing Officer as designated by the Illinois Property Assessment Institute. He has been admitted to practice as a member of the Illinois Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is a member of several bar associations and professional organizations and has published numerous articles in professional journals.

He has more than 35 years of experience in Real Property Taxation. Prior to his graduation from law school he served as a commercial/industrial analyst and Assistant Auditor for the Cook County Assessor’s Office.

Brian served 18 years as a Trustee on the Tinley Park Village Board. At various times he was the chairman of the Village’s Finance Committee, Public Safety Committee and Budget and Administration Committee. From 1994 to 1999 he served as a Commissioner for the Tinley Park Long Range Plan Commission. From 1990 to 1994 he served as an Economic Development Commissioner advising the Village Board on all aspects of economic development.
